It's NOT Space Harrier. It's... well, if you go by the lineage of the engine itself, more akin to Rad Racer (which I suppose would make it more akin to Out Run or something). But for a struggling Square, looking to spice up their stable of Famicom Disk System developers, it was a way to give Hironobu Sakaguchi, Nobuo Uematsu, and the oft-overlooked Nasir Gebelli something to do before coming up with Final Fantasy.
