Chart Review of Dragon Quest XI! - Part 29 - Dimension Training - Let's Play w/ Post Call Gaming!
Echoes of an Erdrick's Age!
We make our way up Mount Pang-Lai, only to learn that it is home to a group of monastery monks who have been awaiting Eleven's return as a Prince of Dundrasil for some time. As it turns out, these monks are the time-honored teachers of the Luminaries and Princes of Dundrasil that have come before him, with members being taught martial arts and magic as a way to enhance their fighting abilities. But sadly, despite being untouched by the fall of Yggdrasil - which is strange, given how close it is - it seems like the Grand Master had fallen after casting a spell to protect the monastery and its inhabitants. Queen Marina, anyone...?
Even though the Grand Master isn't here, hope isn't entirely lost -- it looks like she's left behind a pupil in her place, who takes us to the holy grounds where previous Luminaries have once trained. However, it isn't long before we're also told that a hermit previously visited the temple, only to leave once he had learned that the Grand Master had passed on. The heroes that we are, we head further up Mount Pang Lai to assist this mysterious man -- but it's none other than Rab, frozen and trapped in the realm between life and death!
We project ourselves into the Astral Plane, only to learn that Rab has been training with the recently departed Grand Master all this time to perfect a new magical technique to use in the battle against Mordegon. He's not the only one that gets assistance; Eleven also picks up the new, almighty Quadraslash, and together, the grandfather-and-grandson duo also perfect a merged technique that use these skills together to decimate evil. Mordegon invades into our little pocket universe, however, and we scramble to escape. Now, it's time to find the rest of our friends!
