In today's episode of Skul the Hero Slayer, we'll be using Genie with Chase strategies! Going into this I was certain Genie would almost certainly be a top contender for Chase strategies. This is due to his apparitions appearing behind him whenever he dashes, which would trigger items like Stigma Leg and Mane of the Beast King. However...during the run I saw that his apparitions weren't activating the items it was supposed to be. At the time I didn't know why, but after reflection I realized it's because his apparitions are considered "clones", and clones can't proc items. This is both understandable and frustrating, because if clones could activate items there's some items they could easily break the game with. However, it does make me wish Southpaw would code in exceptions for situations where it wouldn't be broken, but would give a nice boost to certain skulls. Genie's apparitions triggering Mane of the Beast King being a big example of something that would make sense and not break the game. HOWEVER, that is only one small part of this run, there's a lot more to see! How will the Genie perform today inside the ruthless Dark Mirror?
