Chassis Hidden Potential - Rewind Project Continues #rewind
28The Rewind Project Continues as Nic is determined to get this HZ Holden Panel Van back on the road. He has separated the chassis from the body a couple of weeks ago, so he can work on the chassis at home and Neil can work on the body at the same time.
Nic has stripe the chassis down removing the diff and all the front suspension and brakes. He is cleaning up all the areas that need to be boxed up on the chassis, removing all the dags from previous works and then smoothing out the metal frame chassis of this HZ Holden Panel Van.
He is going to cleaning up the chassis and then get quotes to powder coat the chassis or paint it on two pack. He striping down all the front suspension and brakes to make sure they are all new, functioning and have a bit of eye candy to them. The same for the Diff as well, Nic will be striping all these components to ensure they are perfect and up showing the vehicle off.
Nic has a lot of work to be done, however, he is determined to get Rewind Ready for the 50th Van National in Mildura Victoria in Easter 2025, where a number of West Coast Vanners members will be taking to trip over to Melbourne for this huge event for the Vanning Community. Aussie Garage will be this as well, so we have to get our butts into gear as well for the Aussie Garage Promo Van.
Once Nic has the chassis all cleaning, paint and ready for reassembly, he hoping to make sure the body is ready at the same time. There a lot to do on the body and this will be a large part of the Rewind Project to move forward. Nic also has to have the Chassis inspected by engineers for approval as well to ensure he is complying with road standards.
