Rage in Peace is a scroller (not always side) with a difference.

In Rage in Peace you play a young man of 27 who has found out he is going to die this very day by decapitation! This thwarts his only true dream in life; to die peacefully at home in bed. So we embark on an adventure to cheat death long enough for our hero to get home and hopefully cheat his fate, but some one or something isn't happy about it and they are making things hard.

The game play usually consists of trying to get to the next check point without being decapitated in some gruesome fashion. There are boss monsters at the end of each leg just to make things harder.

It's not always easy and relies on memory and timing but it's definitely fun. It's also well made and has great art and a really cool story, if not a little macabre.
I thought the first boss monster was going to be impossible and was the only part that frustrated me but I figured out the trick. ***Spoiler---- You need to dodge his charge 3 times and he does it at set intervals that don't vary so I found that counting the alarms rings in the background you can judge exactly when to jump. I think it was 13, 7, and 4. Jump one before each time and you should get it...eventually. -----End spoiler*****
