Woodpunk* is a fantastic rogue-like arena shooter.

It's a really cool idea, wood is the primary source of power and you have been made into a robo-wood hero after a near death experience. Due to a power hungry relative taking over the kingdom you have to fight to take it back.

The gameplay consistes of a home base where you can change options, access a research tree to purchase in game upgrades, select multiplayer or single player, and of course select what region to battle next. There is also a display room where armour is displayed as it's earnt.
When you select a region to battle you are transported to the arena in a pod that crashes in the center and the first wave comences to attack you. Your weapons are a ranged and a melee interchangable with the space bar and as you progress your companion can craft you upgrades with different random effects. You need to defeat a varying number of waves in each arena before you can proceed to the next. The arenas are random and the weapons too, a new one each time. Basically it's all randomly generated. Everything in the arena is destructible and the cherry on top......you have a jetpack!

It really is as terriffic game and they have done a great job of it. There is a great variety of enemies with different abilities and a lot of fun and skill involved in the combat. All the veriety and features keep the game interesting and I had a great time making my video.
