Chew-Man-Fu is a moderately rare and quaint little action puzzler released in the U.S. and surprisingly enough, for the Wii Virtual Console. Known as "Be Ball" in Japan, your goal is fairly simple on the surface; You have to get four balls of different colors where they need to be on the screen. What you can't see on the surface is that there are more variables to consider than you'll get at a glance and an absurd amount of levels (we're uploading the first ending for completing 50 levels... the manual states that there are 550 levels, so it will be done in small doses...). It's amazing they cramed this much into a HuCard.

The story (yes, it has one) is a little hilarious in and of itself if not taken seriously. The people of the Egg Roll Dynasty have been deprived of their favorite foods -- fried rice and egg rolls! But fear not! Those two fiesty twin sisters, LaLa and LingLing are about to turn the tables on the evil-doers. They must stop the wicked Chew's Curse and restore food to the land. The things the wiseman says are unusually... mean for a cute game of this kind. He describes mostly cute animals and creatures as ruthless thugs and assassins, among other things. In the end, it's all good, because they can't dance as good as you can.

This game allows you to turn around corners and break down walls with your balls, each with different characteristics. For example, the Black ball is the strongest and can take down walls with ease, while the Blue ball takes a long time to stop when kicked but is the weakest. You can also find lots of hidden items and power-ups and go to interesting bonus rounds with thirty diamonds. You can also get special bonuses of diamonds with points or get a special mercy one-up for five diamonds if you clear a level when you're on your last life. This one is ultimately worth tracking down if you're the type who loves long puzzle games that'll take you a long time to finish in its entirety. Good thing there's passwords. Enjoy.
