Atomic Runner is a port of a 1988 arcade game, released in 1992 on the Sega Genesis. It was published and developed by Data East, who, all things considered, have/had a good track record.

Wow, talk about an unexpectedly pretty awesome game! Neither of us have heard of it before, and it's a nice mixture between a run-and-gun, and a Gradius-style shoot-em-up. Really neat, unique-feeling game that definitely warrants a play. It's not super cheap, so play it how you can!
