CiB Let's Try - Kiwi Kraze (NES)
Kiwi Kraze was released for almost every system possible in September 1988. The NES version was developed by Software Creations, who also developed Silver Surfer, Wolverine, and Terminator 2 for NES (defunct since 2002), and was published by Taito. Kiwi Kraze is known as The NewZealand Story elsewhere in the world.
I love NES Let's Try videos, because you can generally tell if an NES game is good within 5 seconds of playing it. Kiwi Kraze is automatically within the top 10-15% of NES games, because it's actually kinda fun!
In positives, the controls respond well, the music is solid, and everything flows well.
In negatives, the backgrounds and color pallet in general is awful, the stage design is weird, and the one hit kills are a bummer -- though I've never seen a game as kind with restarting your character right where you died (it's almost too kind, as we saw at one point). Overall, if you're looking for a not super well known NES game, you can do a lot worse than Kiwi Kraze! Thanks for watching!
