CiB Let's Try - Eek! The Cat (SNES)
Eek! The Cat was released in 1994 as a Super Nintendo exclusive. It was developed by CTA Developments, who are credit with 4 games: The Blues Brothers for Amiga, Sleepwalker (more on this later), Eek!, and Cheesy for PS1, a PAL exclusive. Eek! was published by Ocean Software, which was like the European LJN.
After recording this footage, I found out that Eek! The Cat is a pallet-swap of CTA Development's previous game 'Sleepwalker'. It is quite literally the same game, where the levels and the character sprites are swapped around. I don't know anything about Eek! The Cat lore, but that's about as lazy of an idea as humanly possible.
I also -specifically- hate these type of platform/puzzle games where you have to protect a slow character moving through the level -- hard pass. Unfortunately, there is at least one more game on the SNES library that plays just like Eek! The Cat (Rocko's Modern Life), so I hope it's awhile until we try that one out. Thanks for watching!
