There are a lot of these enemies in the game. They're all optional bosses and are part of a side quest where you collect their skin. This is the easiest of them all. Usually they eat 1-2 random party members. I think perhaps because I'm doing this solo character, they skip that attack. The other attacks are fairly simple to dodge. Parrying is pointless for this fight as there are no counter attacks available (i think). So it's better to take the safer route and just dodge.
Maelle has a really nice cycle of attacks making her very powerful. We start off with Spark to apply burn to the enemy. Then follow this up with Swift Stance to enter Virtuos Stance. Then finish the cycle with Flurret Flurry. Cycling these 3 attacks can pretty much carry you to the end game if you wanted. That said Maelle gets much more powerful later with different attacks.
