With the season over the team is humming at just the right time. Although the Supporter's Shield is nice and all that, anyone who pays attention to American sports knows that the only thing that truly matters is the playoffs. So our goal is simple: we're top dog (club?) in the league, so now it's time to win the top prize in the MLS. Sure, we have a few injuries and a key suspension, but Charlotte FC is getting hot again at the right time. Let's get that trophy.

On a channel that focuses on so many strategy and 2D combat games, why would I be playing a game like Football Manager 2022? Honestly, it checks a lot of boxes: it's a game that gives you the freedom to build your own team, attributes and balancing strategies matter a ton, there's a lot of interesting metagamaing outside of just playing soccer (yes, I said it), and the matches happen on their own so that I am at the mercy of my choices and roster building mistakes. Yes, Football Manager can be described as a spreadsheet simulator in the same vein as something like Eve Online, but it's a series I've enjoyed for awhile and there's no better time to showcase it on the channel than the founding days of a local professional sports teams. You know I'm all about building things up from square 1. My intent here is to take it all the way to the top.

Note that the first few episodes were recorded BEFORE the first Major Update to FM22 released on the same day as this video (Dec 7, 2021). Things may be a bit different if you try to do this run yourself.
