4Demonstration of my 50kps railgun-boosted missile in Children of a Dead Earth.
This missile has two mode of operation. In the default mode, a small flak charge will fire shortly before impact, scattering 4 12.5 gram fragments towards the target. This charge can be disabled when direct-impact is desired. The fragment mode is useful against targets presenting a side profile, in which case it increases the odds of striking a critical component. This missile is also useful for distracting laser defenses for slower missiles to close.
