Code of the Samurai PS2 Gameplay ( Midas Interactive / CriWare / Laughting Jackal ) Playstation 2
In this video we test out the Midas Interactive release titled Code of the Samurai. I was quite suprised to see a game as well developed as this to be published by Midas, it seems more the market for 505 Games. Midas must of been proud of this one.
The game is storyline based, and too much of it for my liking. I didnt actually get to test out the game, but Wiggy G did, so im going to pass you over to him to talk about the gameplay...
I jumped straight into this one without knowing the controls, like most of these budget titles, which in hindsight was a bad idea and would have made this game a lot better had I known what I was doing. It's the usual hack and slash, run around, pick up pretty orbs stuff you get from most Japanese/samurai based games such as Onimishu and Dynasty Warriors. The fighting was quite frustrating with the camera angles not staying behind my charatcter enough. The battles feels a bit slow but I hope they get better as the game goes on or it could be just another Midas failure which would be a shame as it looks quite nice for a budget game. With a character building XP system to get bigger and better combos it could make this worth a proper playthrough but, knowing Midas, probably not.
