We take a break from the Singles Coliseum to challenge the Team Coliseum. There are only two classes, Beginner and Advanced, but each class has five battles rather than Beginner starting with three. The first three characters in your party take on the gauntlet together, and just like the Singles Coliseum, items can't be used and equipment can only be changed at the start of each round.

Since there are nine playable characters, but only three can enter the team coliseum at a time, I decided that I would use every character at least once. Raine will go in every time because her healing spells and Recover are just too important, so every run will include a different pair plus Raine. Beginner on Normal has Sheena and Regal, while Beginner on Mania has Colette and Genis.

Sheena matches up against the Beginner Team Coliseum really well thanks to Cyclone Seal being able to interrupt the Sorceress' casts from a distance, and Acalanatha giving dark resistance and added damage to undead for the last two rounds. And the needs of the run wind up with Regal using both of his Swallow Dance altered artes, mostly by accident. Opal is equipped on the first two rounds for Wind resist to take Air Blades, and Sardonyx is equipped in round 3 to hit all the aquatic enemies super-effectively. Oh, and the Kaiser Greaves won from the Singles Coliseum put in some work as they're Light element and rounds 4 and 5 are both weak to Light.

For Beginner on Mania, I went with Colette and Genis to recycle a similar strategy I used for the Desian fights early in the game: have Colette keep the enemies at bay with her crowd control while Genis casts big AoE spells for massive damage. Just instead of Tidal Wave, Genis casts Meteor Storm, Indignation, then Prism Sword. Colette and Raine can also become completely immune to Wind in the first two rounds and Water in the third thanks to having two Elemental Circlets from fighting Seles twice.
