Here it is. The final challenge of the Meltokio Coliseum. Completing the hardest gauntlet with the character that has the hardest time with it. Even the Team Coliseum and the cameo battle has nothing on this. In fact, it's necessary to complete the Team Coliseum before even attempting Advanced Singles with Genis.

Failed Normal Attempts start at 2:37.
Normal Mode Fights start at 6:44.
Mania Mode Prep starts at 13:37.
Mania Mode Fights start at 18:05.
Rewards Talk starts at 32:06.

No failed attempts on Mania this time because there are already two hours' worth of failed attempts on my channel, lol.

Here's some tips for each fight.

Round 1: This battle is why it's imperative to clear the Team Coliseum first. Genis needs the Star Cloak to get Fire immunity without an accessory slot (Star Cloak, Star Cap, Star Bracelet). You might be able to get away with equipping a Flare Cape or Garnet on Normal instead of the Mystic Symbol, but you need the Force Ring for non-elemental resistance on higher difficulties, and the Turquoise for regen regardless. Start off with a Meteor Storm to hit both enemies. On Normal, this can sometimes one-shot the Rider, but don't count on it. Still, his health will be low enough to take out with a few hits from the Kendama, then one Freeze Lancer is enough to finish off the Velocidragon. On Mania, I found more success switching targets and aiming for the Velocidragon first after the Meteor Storm, since a lone Rider is a lot easier to deal with than a lone Velocidragon, and the weakness to ice means getting rid of the dragon more quickly with several Freeze Lancers. Then only cast Icicle at a distance and finish off the Rider with the down attack spell cancel combo. I got Absolute to 999 uses specifically to spell cancel with it on this fight, but in retrospect it was not necssary, since you don't have to spell cancel until after taking out the Velocidragon anyway.

Round 2: If you're lucky and the Crush Tortoise never leaps at you, you can do this without taking damage by spamming Thunder Blade. This happened on Normal but not Mania. If the Tortoise does leap at you and you get stuck in the corner, escape the corner and make space by using the up combo. If you have Thunder Blade at 999 uses, spell cancel with that, otherwise spell cancel with Explosion like usual. Either way, take the opportunity to switch the Star Cap with the Cleric's Hat for extra regen, and put on the Aqua Cape for Water resistance on higher difficulties.

Round 3: Try to stay right underneath the Drake at all times and cast a non-Lightning spell that will hit it in the air. For me this was Atlas. If you went with all T-Type, Spread and Air Thrust would be good options too. Ice Tornado would be ideal since it hits the Drake's weakness to Ice, but having Ice Tornado means not having Freeze Lancer or Absolute, and Freeze Lancer is better for Round 1 and Absolute is better in general. And do your best to avoid casting while getting hit with lightning breath. If you keep casting with Concentrate, you will probably die, either to the breath itself or later on in the cup because your health is too low. Equip Thunder Cape on higher difficulties for protection.

Round 4: The Ice Warrior is at its most dangerous at midrange, where it can shoot you with its ice projectiles. If he's very close, he won't shoot the projectiles and you can afford to take a few melee hits while casting Eruption or even hard casting Explosion to knock it back. If you're too far away for the projectiles to hit you, you have the opportunity to hit it with a few Fire Balls or Eruptions, or even Explosion. If Explosion knocks it closer to you, you can regain distance by jumping over the grounded Ice Warrior and back-stepping away. Keep your distance from the Ice Warrior in mind and avoid situations where the projectiles can hit you and you should be fine. And of course, equip Aqua Cape on higher difficulties.

Round 5: Since the Dragon Knight is such a big target, start the battle off with a Meteor Storm to do massive damage to it. If you are on Normal and have Concentrate, you will probably take so much damage that you can only afford to cast it once, and will have to make do with other spells for the rest. Fortunately on Normal, I took just enough hits over the coliseum run to enter Overlimit and finished it off with Indignation Judgement. This did not happen on Mania. Instead, I used Explosion to knock the Dragon Knight away for more time to cast. Also, a benefit to having Spell Save and NOT Concentrate and means you get knocked out of the Dragon Knight's combos and therefore take less damage before Meteor Storm goes off. This gives you an opportunity to use a second.
