If you clear the Advanced Team Coliseum with Lloyd in the party, he gets the title Tactical Leader, so I'm all but forced to bring Lloyd in for Advanced on Normal. Accompanying him is Zelos, who cannot be brought into my Mania Mode team, and Raine, who is in every team. This leaves Kratos and Presea as my pair for Advanced on Mania.

Not that these team comps are bad, mind you. Even if these teams weren't basically required, I probably would have chosen them anyway. Presea has a collection of weapons that gives her an edge against most of the Advanced Team Coliseum: Pow Hammer DX for added damage to humans in round 1, Strike Ax to do extra damage to the Red Mantis in round 3 (while using her own Earth techs to bypass the Lightning resistance on the Feather Magic), Strike Ax again in round 4 to bypass the Evil Teddy's non-elemental resistance (I put on Bahamut's Tear by mistake, but no big deal. Her Earth techs bypass it anyway), and Bahamut's Tear to do extra damage to the Dragon Knight in round 5. This makes Presea a great choice to bring in to Advanced on Mania where you can't afford to use accessory slots for elemental damage when you need them for resistances or in round 3, status protection.

Kratos is good for Advanced on Mania for similar reasons. Last Fencer does added damage to humans in rounds 1 and 5, and Laser Blade lets him bypass the Evil Teddy's non-elemental resistance in round 4 (again, I equipped Last Fencer by mistake). Meanwhile Kratos' own techs let him hit the opponents in round 3 for weakness without an accessory slot. Lightning Blade/ Super Lightning Blade for the Red Mantis, and Aerial Spell Stone Blast for the Feather Magic.

Lloyd and Zelos tackle Round 3 on Normal differently, where they instead use Sardonyx and Ruby respectively. Lloyd hits the Red Mantis with Lightning Tiger/Lightning Thrust, while Zelos hits the Feather Magic. If he had Fierce Demon Fang he could use Grave Blade too, by mine still had Double Demon Fang. Lloyd also used Valkyrie Saber since I wanted to show it off at some point and this was a good opportunity. More of Lloyd's moves are Slash than they are Thrust, and even some Thrust-dominant moves have Slash hits in them (the final hit of Sword Rain Alpha, and the Tiger Blade and Beast components of Raining Tiger Blade and Beast Sword Rain), which makes the Slash stat generally more valuable than the Thrust stat and Kusanagi Blade better than the Valkyrie Saber by default... And that's without factoring in Kusanagi Blade's extra damage to Undead. There aren't any undead to fight in Advanced, and there will be plenty of Undead in the bonus dungeon and final Fun With Farming videos, so I figured this was as good a time as any to show off the Valkyrie Saber.

Lastly, Lloyd and Presea both have Lucky Unison in their Ex-Skill set up. That's... more for the bonus round. Stay tuned for next time.
