Comix Zone is a Beat em' up mixed with some jump and run and some adventure elements. The game was made by Sega , published by Sega and made (you probably guessed it) for Sega and ofcourse various other platforms later on. It came out around 1995.

While the game itself was basically just a Fighting game the thing that made it very special was that all of it was inside a comic. You are playing as Sketch Turner who is the one that made the comic and somehow gets trapped into it and now he is part of his own painted world and has to find a way out of there.

You also have an inventory with 3 slots where you can keep some items and use then later if you need them. For example in the beginning you get a medicine bottle which can heal you, so you should keep that for a while and use it when you are almost dead.

There are also alternate routes in most levels where you have 2 choices on where to go. Both routes have their good and bad sides. One route can be easier to go through because it has less enemies, but the other route can give you better special items. As you will surely restart this game a few times you can try out every route on your way and look what is the best for you.

The game is fun to play no question but it is also very unforgiving meaning that you only have one life and if you fail you have to start ALL OVER AGAIN.
This can demoralize a player real quick because it is not an easy game either.

If you still find the time to play it over and over again and eventually master it then you will have fun with the game and sooner or later you will eventually see the end. I never got past the second level to be honest :P
