Commodore VIC-20: Comparing JiffyDOS load time vs. normal kernel using SD card
A quick video showing the speed increase with JiffyDOS.
TL;DW ... loading Dave Murray's @The8BitGuy PETSCII Robots is about 10x (pronounced "ten times" and NOT "ten X" ... grrr) faster when using JiffyDOS and an SDIEC device with JiffyDOS support.
Using the normal kernel it took about 54s to load the program to the start menu.
With JiffyDOS it took about 5s!
Obviously you won't notice as much difference loading older & smaller software, but you would still notice a speed increase when navigating around the SD card in the file browser.
