Comparing the John Lennon Imagine "Imaginary" High D Note in the Demo, Take 1, Take 10 and Final Mix
3In response to the "John Lennon's imaginary note" video by David Bennett-Piano, I'm comparing side by side the Imagine Demo, Take 1, Take 10, and Final Mix. (All credits to John Lennon)
Wonder what other people are hearing (focusing on the ending of the clip and whether there is a high D note present)
Personally, I only hear the note in Take 10 and the final mix (which could very well be the same take)
Sorry if it's impossible to read, but from the top of the screen to the bottom are: Demo, Take 1, Take 10, and final mix.
I play the clips in order, and then slightly out of order (with Take 1 and Take 10 swapped) to try and emphasize the difference.
Maybe this is really a yanny/laurel or brainstorm/green needle phenomenon, but i don't think so.
