[COMPILATION] Arcade-style Light Gun Games / Sega Master System [Phaser/SNAC]
*** EPILEPSY WARNING *** *** RAPID FLASHING IMAGES ***
Included games: Rambo III, Assault City, Operation: Wolf - I wanted to include Space Gun in this also, but the game was too long so it got its own video: https://youtu.be/wg5osZK4K_o
Using SNAC (Serial Native Accessory Converter) for zero latency light gun support. Phaser is ~3ft from my 24 inch Trinitron.
Not a very good showing from the arcade-style light gun games on SMS. Rambo III is my pick for the best of the bunch, though certainly nothing special. Assault City is decent as well, though very generic. Operation:Wolf is my least favorite of the bunch, and could have benefited heavily from an autofire feature. There is also some graphical glitching in this video for Operation: Wolf, because it was only ever released in PAL areas, and I am playing it on an NTSC TV. This is why the status bar sometimes becomes garbled and glitchy looking. No biggie because the game is hard to play/look at for very long anyways. It has decent graphics, but the sound and controls are just not very good. The game was based around a machine gun in the arcade, where you hold the trigger to fire. Making the player pull the trigger for each bullet is excessive and monotonous, especially when you add high pitched noises (when you shoot tanks and other vehicles) to the mix.
