Complete in Box Plays - Rygar: The Legendary Adventure (PS2) - Part 7 - FINALE
It's time to finish off Rygar: the Legendary Adventure! I did a bit of grinding, and was much better prepared for the Echidna / Chronos onslaught. Man, is Chronos a glass cannon kind of boss!
Overall, I am glad I finally finished Rygar. Overall, I enjoyed it (maybe 7 or 7.5/10) -- in positives, the game looks good, the combat is satisfying, and the controls are very responsive.
In negatives, the story is essentially non-existent, and Rygar as a character is a plank of wood. I also feel like the game gives you too few items, and hides the Mystic Stones a bit too well throughout the world. I didn't utilize a FAQ (there really isn't one that is very helpful), and I found just about half of the Mystic Stones after backtracking through pretty much the whole game.
Overall, Rygar's place in video game history is more important than the game itself: it clearly led the way for God of War and other similar 3D action games, but the overall experience is definitely inferior to said 3D action games. Thanks for watching!
