CiB Let's Try - Midnight Resistance (Sega Genesis)
Midnight Resistance is a 1989 arcade game that was ported to many different home computers, then eventually the Sega Genesis in 1991 (the title screen says 1990, but every source I see states 1991, with no further date).
Midnight Resistance was developed by Data East, who developed many excellent arcade games in the late 80's, early 90's, and published by Sega themselves for the Genesis version.
Hmm... I wonder what game this is copying... I just can't put my finger on it! Seriously though, as a Contra clone, Midnight Resistance is honestly pretty good. With any Let's Try video, we don't play the game too much, but for the 15 minutes I tried it out, I really enjoyed it.
I like that you can collect the keys to use at the end of levels for better improvements, and the graphics, sound, and controls all work as expected. It's not ridiculously difficult (at least on the Easy setting), and it's a game I could -potentially- see beating, depending on how hard the last couple of levels go. Apparently this was released on the Sega Genesis Mini 2, so I can highly recommend you to play Midnight Resistance any way you can!
