CiB Let's Try - Hellfire (Sega Genesis)
Hellfire was released in September, 1989 for the Sega Genesis, which is a port of the arcade game of the same name.
It was developed by Toaplan, who also developed the infamous 'Zero Wing', of which 'All Your Base Are Belong To Us' was spawned. They also published, but didn't develop, the infamously expensive MUSHA for the Sega Genesis. Hellfire was published by Seismic Software, who also published Super Hydlide and Air Driver on Genesis.
The Sega Genesis is famous for its horizontal shooters -- although Hellfire by no means is the best one, I had a really good time with my brief experience with the game. My two main complaints are that your ship's sprite is too big, and much like Gradius, it's really difficult to return from a death (you're just so weak in your standard form).
I would consider myself above-average at shooters, so for me not to even beat a single level shows the difficulty here -- this is a tough one. Probably not worth the price of admission (unless you're a hardcore collector), but definitely worth playing this one any way you can. Thanks for watching!
