CiB Let's Try - Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (Genesis)
Mary Shelley's Frankenstein was released on November 4, 1994 for the SNES and Sega Genesis. Contrary to what I said on the video, it -was- based on a movie, the 1994 movie of the same name that I have just heard of for the first time right now.
The game was published by Bits Studios, a former British developer who also developed Last Action Hero, the home port of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, and The Itchy & Scratchy Game -- a bunch of average at best games. This game was published by Sony Imagesoft, who pretty much only published bad games until it was folded into SCEA in 1995.
This is once again one of those games that the development history is so much more interesting than the actual gameplay. In MS:F, you play as Frankenstein's Monster, and you're super weak (for some reason). Everything is confusing, as doors lead to nothing, pulleys generally lead to nothing, and holy cow, I'm supposed to play this game for 7 excruciatingly long levels?? Hard pass.
We did put in the Level 7 code if you want to see a slightly different aesthetic. This game is a mess, and we can highly suggest you do not play it. Thanks for watching!
