The NES and I have a love/hate relationship. The games I like, I generally absolutely adore. Then, there is 70-80% of the library that is simply unplayable, especially by today's standards. Wacky Races is one of those games that isn't an all-time classic by any means, but is a really solid playthrough on a system that has a lot of duds, in my opinion.
Unfortunately Wacky Races is also a very rare game. In our 13 year history of the store, we have never seen it (until now), and it commands a pretty high price, even for cartridge only. It's a combination of being a somewhat late NES release (released over a full year after the SNES), and being published by Atlus.
That's a darn shame, because Wacky Races is a game I think every NES fan should play through at least once -- especially those with kids, or those looking for a somewhat easy game to actually finish. Atlus doesn't reinvent the wheel here by any means, but Wacky Races ends up being a pretty solid, if a bit unspectacular, platforming experience. This is a full playthrough -- thanks for watching!
