Question of the part: besides budget VR titles, that is a literal horror game that was made for the current generation of consoles? (Can't include PC ya plebs)

It's unfortunate because horror is clearly my favorite genre for games, and I'm really just not too much of a PC gamer. The stuff we do get ends up being EPIC jumpscares, and that's about it.

Now, we have to find a date (awesome puzzle tbh) then fight the most bullet sponge boss ever. Next up is Nowhere, me actually getting through the final kinda maze like part, and the EPIC final boss. I like how the final boss isn't really fully explained as to why it is there. It just all of a sudden is there, and you fight it.

Once again, I am super, super disappointed in a horror game ending. I can't remember the last one I played where I was even in the least satisfied. I understand this is a prequel and there's only so much you can do there, and I'm glad Travis got out but, it leaves a lot to be desired.

Overall, Silent Hill Origins clearly is not as good as the first 3, and I personally would also take 4 as the whole package (not necessarily gameplay lol) over it. It's pretty average, with some cool parts. I think the Sanitorium is a top-tier Silent Hill setting, and although the game is short, it doesn't have a whole lot of dead areas. The combat is also pretty good.

The story (again, I get that it's a prequel) leaves a ton to be desired. I feel like Travis' story with his parents was just so blah. The fact that it was a focus of much of the game, and lo and behold, at the end he gets to help stop the cult... I guess. Compared to other characters - James and his deep-seeded regret in 2, Heather and her finding herself/figuring out who she was in 3, or even Harry and his lone goal to find his daughter, Travis is just kinda there. He's still somehow better than Henry from 4, though.

Overall, it's a solid 6, maybe 6.5, maybe 7 out of 10. Worth a play if you can, but I don't see myself coming back, unless I want to do a speedrun of it. Thanks for watching!
