CompleteNES is a series where I complete every NES game and add unlicensed and famicom games. For an extensive explanation of the series, visit my twitch home screen for me.
Generally, I can use any in game codes or glitches to complete the game. Most of the time, I will not resort to them unless I feel it is absolutely necessary to move on. No game genie or save states are allowed during a play through. If I use them to practice, I must restart my run. I can also opt to play the famicom version if the game is easier or includes a better help code. Level select codes can be used only if I have already completed the level and if it's deemed necessary due to extreme difficulty. The purpose isn't to beat every single game without help. It's to emulate an experience I could have had before the age of game genie, like a weekend rental you want to finish and move on. I can choose to make games more difficult if they're great games like doing warpless runs or handicapping a plaything if I desire. This series is just for fun! I don't claim any mastery.
