My second Computercraft tutorial, about how to monitor Railcraft tanks from a distance.
Trying to learn some more useful things to do, and I think this is both easy to learn and has a good use ingame. The code is not very advanced, I searched forums and the Computercraft wiki to get all info that I needed, but you don't need to know much of programming to use the programs yourself :)
Links to code and how to get them into your own computers:
Program for main Computer (that shows all tanks):
http://pastebin.com/DYCzaZc6
Command to get the code into your own Computer:
pastebin get DYCzaZc6 PROGNAME
Program for every tank Computer:
http://pastebin.com/fNzDbp6N
Command to get the code into your own Computer:
pastebin get fNzDbp6N PROGNAME
Download the code, and follow the instructions in the video for every liquid. There are basically three things to change:
1. Liquid type (match main computer)
2. Channel to send data on (has to match main computer!)
3. Warning level (at what percentage to turn on/off warning lamp.
The setup has to be like this for tank computer:
Computer placed so Tank Valve is behind it. Monitor(s) on top of computer, and Redstone Lamp to the right. Wireless modem on the bottom.
For the main computer:
Wireless modem on the backside, monitor(s) on top.
If you change rotation/placement, update the code! :)
Since I'm still learning Computercraft and haven't worked with programming in many years, most stuff is basic and can be done much better. Feel free to suggest improvements and better solutions.
