An audio clip of a stop motion animated Connect 4 TV advert from the UK from 1996 featuring the classic movie monsters King Kong and Godzilla. In the advert, King Kong and Godzilla are seen in New York playing a game of Connect 4, which King Kong cheekily smashes up a red car and uses it as a red counter and King Kong gets 4 in a row and defeats Godzilla. This is a brilliant advert. The advert came out 2 years before the 1998 Godzilla remake starring Matthew Broderick. Connect 4 is one of my favourite games. Connect 4 is like the Chess game, but the rules are simpler. For those of you who've never played Connect 4 and are unfamiliar with it, you put your disc in a blue grid, which you've got to stop your opponent from making 4 in a row, which the first player to get 4 in a row is the winner. The advert had good stop motion which was a nod to the old King Kong and Godzilla movies from the 1930s and the 1950s and it made the advert look timeless. King Kong turning a red car into a red disc and putting it in the blue grid was just genius. British TV advertisement at its best. They really don't do TV adverts like that no more.
