In this chapter, having barely escaped a painful death from thirst in the desert, King Arthur finally reaches the walls of Jerusalem, where another misfortune strikes as soon as he crosses into the Holy City - a local thief steals all his money and quickly makes his escape. Penniless and clueless, Arthur wanders around the great bazaar of Jerusalem, picking up conversations with a variety of local merchants in an attempt to learn some information about the Grail or news of Sir Galahad, but to no avail, as his wanderings end up more on the sight-seeing side. Fortunately, he manages to sell his mule to an interested arms merchant, which at least helps him to recoup his losses and prepare himself for a bit of a shopping spree.
