In this chapter, Alex takes a long walk around Haven Springs, ultimately planning to find Mac Loudon and get the truth out of him, but for now mostly distracting herself with the local sights, sightseers, and occasional bystanders in need of a helping hand. She does manage to gently extract some useful information on Mac's recent behavior from his girlfriend, Riley, and also provides Charlotte, Gabe's widow, with some useful advice on how to deal with Typhon's attempts to buy her silence. And, of course, she can't help but get pulled inside the planning whirlwinds of Steph's upcoming LARP to be held for little Ethan's sake...
