Control Ultimate Edition Gameplay Ep. 005: AWE Fin & Jukebox
0Greetings Agents of the FBC,
In this episode I conclude the AWE DLC and take on the jukebox dives for the expedition outfit.
What you do not see, for the sake of brevity, is a lot of the glue of the game. The weird documents, the offbeat dialogue, the stark environments and lighting. Ultimately it does boil down to some tense firefights and the odd monster. As super-powered Director though, I never feel outmatched. I like how the AWE both confirms the need for the FBC while also suggesting a wild chicken-or-the-egg situation for Jesse Fayden. Is she going to be responsible for saving Alan Wake or did Alan Wake conceive of her destiny in the first place? I am sure many people have figured this out, but it is very cool replaying the game with the DLCs filling out the plot beyond the scope of this game and into the shared universe being developed.
As for the jukebox, it came together like riding a bike. I remember the vibe of the challenges: 4 sections, different objectives and a timer. There were also random modifiers that force you to fight a little differently or not fight at all in some cases. Happy to get it done in one sitting. I remember my first go of it took me an extra day.
