Several years ago when I got my first Raspberry Pi, I had a lot of fun controlling Minecraft using the "Minecraft Pi" (mcpi) Python library: https://projects.raspberrypi.org/en/projects/getting-started-with-minecraft-pi/4

I now have a copy of Minecraft Java Edition on my Mac, and couldn't help wondering if mcpi would work with it. Turns out, it does, but it takes a bit of work to get everything running.
