Corpse Keeper – A Roguelite That’s Ugly, Broken… and Weirdly Fun
Corpse Keeper is one of the weirdest games I’ve played in a while. It’s clunky, rough, and honestly kind of a mess — but there’s a spark of something cool buried beneath all the jank. A Soulslike-inspired roguelite where you reanimate corpses to fight in gritty 2.5D battles sounds awesome on paper… but in execution? It stumbles. Hard.
A Steam review put it best:
“Somehow... I like it. It's fun. Animating warriors through the bones of my enemies for a cinematic battle in a grimdark medieval world is cool as ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ . [...] But the game honestly sucks.”
Yeah. That.
I don’t recommend it, but I want to. There’s heart here — it just got buried under unskippable animations and shallow systems.
