Hey everyone and welcome to GamerU. In this video I’m going to be explaining the DefCon Level system in Counterspy.

The Defcon Level system is an integral part of the gameplay in CounterSpy and you need to be aware of it at all times. The Defcon levels range from 1 to 5 and the severity of the level increases as the numbers go down, so Defcon Level 1 is the most severe and at level 5 you’ve got nothing to worry about. If the level gets below 1 a timer will activate. You will then have 60 seconds to reach the end of the mission and stop the counter. There are a number of factors that can lower and raise the DefCon level, the obvious one being detection. If a camera spots you the DefCon level will continue to rise as long as you are in it’s line of site. If an enemy spots you, the level will not rise automatically, but only rise if they are able to escape and call in for backup. You will see a radio icon above their head if this is the case. There are also ways to lower the DefCon level. To do this, you can either hold up an Officer or equip the Persuasion Formula before a mission. To hold up an officer, simply aim your gun at them when they are the only enemy left. If you equip the Persuasion Formula, your DefCon level will automatically drop one level as soon as you start the mission.
