Well, that was a far less hectic finish than I was expecting. I was led to believe that the final area in Sly Cooper was significantly more difficult than the rest of the game, but as it turned out, it was just *slightly* more annoying, due to the fact that most of it was comprised of those annoying mini-games from earlier, only with some slight tweaks... to make them just a little bit more annoying. But I guess it was my own fault for hoping that this platformer comprised almost entirely of *platforming*, right?

On the plus side, the platforming I had left was pretty fun all the same. And while the turret segments, the race and that bit at the end where I had to collect a set number of items before they were destroyed were kind of annoying, I did appreciate that they brought back that twin-stick shooter playstyle from the first world in that final area. But forcing me to work through a rail shooter segment in a game where one-hit deaths are the norm was just brutal.

I thought it was kind of funny that opening the last vault and obtaining the final page of the Thievius Raccoonus immediately bumped me straight to the "true" ending. I mean, I can appreciate that the game outright made it impossible to obtain before beating the final boss. I also appreciated that weird alternate Japanese take on the opening cutscene -- though I found it kind of ironic that the artstyle made every character *except* Carmelita Fox cuter in the process. The "true" ending was a nice bonus, but I think I preferred the main one, all things considered. That bit with the handcuffs cracked me up.

It's funny: for the first time this year, I'm writing up a conclusion to one of my streams without knowing which game is next in line. I wonder which game is going to get the next roll. Personally, I'm kind of rooting for Klonoa 2 -- simply because it'll put me in the unusual situation where I'll be left with nothing aside from the games I nominated myself. That could be an interesting experiment, given just how I determine the order of my starting line-up for the year.
