Crash Bandicoot 2 (N. Sane Trilogy) - Episode 6: Tiny Tiger SMAAAAASH!
In this episode of the "Crash 2" playthrough, we complete the remaining three levels in the third set and fight our third boss, Tiny Tiger.
After all of the trouble that the game threw at us last episode with all of those bear levels (and having to play Air Crash for the billionth time), it decides to throw us a bone by making it where the remaining three levels in the third set, "Plant Food", "Sewer or Later", and "Road to Ruin", go by pretty smoothly. Granted, the reason why the lattermost went as well as it did was because I learned from my pain with Air Crash and did some research beforehand to verify that you can't get the box gem unless you access the level via a secret entrance. Regardless, as long as we don't have to go through that level more than twice, it's all good in my book.
Heck, even the third boss, Tiny Tiger, isn't too much of a challenge... at least not as much as Ripper Roo despite the former's attack pattern being identical to the latter's from the first game.
In the first game, you're forced to fight Ripper Roo by making awkward jumps onto specific tnt blocks in specific positions while he jumps in set patterns. This, in turn, started the trend that despite his insanity, Ripper Roo's fights are tests of memory that are laughable if you know his patterns by heart and infuriating if you don't. However, Tiny's fight in this game fixed everything that was wrong with Ripper Roo's by having it where he has no set pattern, instead opting to pathfind his way over to you, which you then use to your advantage by leading him over hovering platforms that are on the verge of falling. By doing this, the game gives the player flexibility and control over the fight in a refreshing battle of wits.
