0:00 Double Header - Crystal & Box Gem
The third and final Medieval level.
The double headed giant guys with the club add another layer of difficulty, one that you can avoid by using the boundaries.

4:34 High Time - Crystal, Box Gem & Purple Gem
Time for a death route. You can die on a death route, but you have to make it back to the death route without dying for the platform not to disappear. There's a couple of new additions to this theme, the guys in the window throwing what I assume to be oil to make fires on to the obvious coloured spots and the scimitar throwing guys. The timing of the first being crucial when going for a Platinum later. Caution is the key here, it's easier to come back for the Gems after getting the third power up as tornado spinning mid air will clear a much larger horizontal distance. Of course you can just time stuff, and look for patterns that you'll need to pick up on for the Platinum anyway.

9:22 Tomb Time - Box & Clear Gem.
Although both types of Gems are generally referred to as Clear Gems, I like to differentiate as I did in my other Crash Bandicoot walkthroughs. The box gem is for breaking all the boxes, the clear gem is for clearing a specific route, or on two occasions in the final world, for winning the race.
To get both gems in one playthrough you'll need to back track, as the are boxes on both routes.
I find it MUCH easier to back track along the Clear Gem route, so I first take it and then back track. There's fewer enemies, and the oil/arrows are the only real obstacles.

14:10 Dino Might! - Crystal
Just as well I love this level, because I'll be visiting it FOUR times.
Both gems are unobtainable until you have the Yellow Gem, so after you get 10 Relics you could go back and get this gem, it will be a while for me though, because I'm only getting Platinums, I won't settle with a Sapphire/Gold sitting there until I improve.
It works out nicely later as you'll see though.
The main new addition is the spinning fish that looks a bit like Crash, and the water streams that push you forwards. You also get to ride a baby dinosaur who is fun to control, but a bit annoying to hit boxes with surprisingly. Shame there wasn't a third level with this theme, would've been nice to ride this dinosaur whilst being chased, or just had more time in general riding it.

16:27 Deep Trouble - Crystal, Box & Red Gem
The main new addition here is the whirlpools that are conveniently placed around puffer fish, meaning you have to time it well.
I like the fact this level splits and obviously gives you two routes to take (although you need to take one to access the other).
Towards the end of the route where the Wumpa Fruit tell you to go you'll see an ! box that will solidify the boxes, so you'll have to go back if you want either (or in this case both) gems.
There's another box to get the Gem out of at the end of this part, although why you'd go all the way back yet again to the first box for the Box Gem is beyond me.

21:21 Bone Yard - Clear Gem
More back tracking, the Red Gem was needed for this route.
Not much harder than the normal route for Dino Might! to be honest, the only thing to look out for is the water stream that pushes you into a lava pool. I always thought the two geyser type things before the set of three had to be jumped over, but I walked between them. Maybe it was a PAL version difference?

24:18 Under Pressure - Platinum Relic.
Kind of the same rules as last time apply.
The only difference is that you don't want to stop for whirpools.
charge through them (even at the cost of the mini sub) and use your masks on them, don't lose them elsewhere.

26:58 Road Crash - Crystal & Box Gem.
There's more pits on this level and roadblocks added, there's also sharper turns which I'm not sure there were any of in the first

29:42 N. Tropy - Death Tornado Spin obtained.
Probably the hardest boss. Just. Still easy though.
He uses a red homing ball that is easy to avoid by running around the edge and then attacks with lasers that are easy to jump over (even with a single jump). He then sticks his erm whatever it is in the ground and the platforms change position giving you the chance to smack him.
The second and third hit are more of the same but with another red ball and another laser for each hit, also a few more platforms get taken away.
Unlike Dingodile, the extra powerup doesn't help as much in beating him. It's tempting to run spin jump over to his platform but he'll kill you. It makes navigating the platforms easier I guess.

32:10 Road Crash - Platinum Relic.
Knowing when to stop using the wheelie is the decider here. The signposts dictating a sharp turn are the key here, Crash won't take it in wheelie mode. Also given that there's not much time pulling a wheelie, stick to the inside of the track on the white line when you're not getting boxes.
