Welcome to the historic Blancmanche Waterfront! Built during the 19th century, many of the homes and hotels of the era were preserved and serve as famous tourist attractions. The area is serviced by two streetcar lines which run the length of the waterfront, which is otherwise limited to pedestrian traffic only. A bicycle path follows the shoreline along a beautiful stone quay. Many piers jut out from there, some featuring restaurants, others providing scenic views or fishing opportunities. A ship museum is the most prominent attraction, as it is home to an authentic steamboat which still functions just as well as it did a century ago. A ferry terminal at the southern tip of the waterfront carries visitors to the various nearby islands. At the center of the district is an old-fashioned Ferris Wheel and carousel where street music can be heard by performers throughout the day. And naturally, you can see a certain someone wearing an animal costume entertaining the kids if you look closely. Nearby, a plaza specializes in serving only the finest mint ice cream, still made just how it was in the 1800s. Sit back, relax on the terraces, and enjoy the breathtaking views and sunsets from the Blancmanche Waterfront.
