A certain organization has reached out to the leaders of Halibut Creek with the proposal for building a deep space radar dish in the mountains on the city's outskirts. Their aim is to explore the skies in search for evidence of extraterrestrial life and to study the infinite mysteries of the vast cosmos. Seeing an opportunity to extend the city's educational programs, the city council agrees to the use of this land as long as Dowitcher State College students can also use the facilities. Thus the Cygnus Science Foundation was established, providing laboratories for astronomers and research classrooms for Halibut Creek's science majors.

Not only is this a satellite campus for DSC, but it is also open to the public so visitors can come to learn about space. Next to the visitor center is the Museum of Technology, featuring exhibits related to the history of astronomy. Further on lies the Science Center, home to a beautiful planetarium which puts on shows every hour. One can rest at one of many plazas and eateries before boarding the ropeway to the Albireo Observatory sitting on the highest peak in the area. Though the radar dish is the main star of the area, as it is sensitive equipment access to it is restricted to the general public. Fortunately, that doesn't stop people from appreciating its presence, as it is viewable on the mountain top from all points of the city. Drive or take the train in to the station at the foot of the mountain, then hop on a shuttle bus and come visit the Cygnus Science Foundation! Open daily from 10 AM - 6 PM. Closed for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
