This game may be the flashiest shmup ever made, but this game is far from a pushover. I'm still in process of beating the arcade modes.


Great graphics, great music, blindingly bright star item diarrhea, in the game's core there is a lot more to it. The game is basically a CAVE Hyper Mode formula shmup. Increase gauge, go super saiyan, rinse and repeat. While CAVE did this with Daifukkatsu by making recharging basically a must and make bullet erasure part of the hyper mode moveset, Crimzon Clover takes it on a different direction: More bullets, more power, more bullet clearer enemies. And compared to DDP games the gauge fills very easily, even more so when you play the game with scoring in mind! It's very cathartic when you set a high multiplier then make stuff explode star items all over the place!


Arrange mode is pretty much the recommended mode for beginners but veteran of the shmup genre. As the game said, it's a medium difficulty. Comparable to Compile shooters, but slightly harder. In Boost mode, the bullets are actually less dense compared to the Original mode. And in Arrange you have a lot of defensive options and extends, making it more humane to 1cc without much drastic change to the enemy patterns. The highlight of arrange mode is you can pick between alternate weapon modes. I personally pick Search Focus combo. Also when you go into Break Mode while it increases your damage output enemy patterns and bullets also get faster. You'll want to think twice about keeping the Break Mode and go guns blazing while the enemies get the similar stuff or use your shield and take a breather by slowing down enemy bullets! The enemy patterns are also fun. Enemy durability also feels right. It's also nice to know that rank increases easily at max and there is no reason to hold back but to weaken the enemy patterns when necessary.


Arrange Boost is recommended to make yourself familiar with the stage designs without being pampered with Novice mode. Give it a 1cc go!
