So... what's the difference between Normal and Beep Ed mode? I don't feel any tangible difference, at all.
Yeah, it's fun. Barrier spam, point blank, and enjoy the spectacles. It's a nice game to play casually when you want a slightly spicy time killer.
It has rapid fire built-in and compared to the arcade, magic is greatly buffed including giving you i-frames. Awesome! Compared to the arcade, though, the x68000 version is like, 3 steps forward and 2 steps backward. The fairy options are less controllable and less useful here. On the arcade fairy control is important. I missed that. Also I would really, really love it if the game has the sfx of the barrier vanishing so I can reload it without always looking at Cotton!
But this one is the more approachable version, and most stuff don't have any absolute safe zones too. So to no-miss this game can be said more difficult than the arcade version for the right reasons. A total recommendation for beginners! Barrier is far stronger too, lasts far longer and can take far more hits. The general strategy to survive is to farm the blue jewels and keep the barrier up whenever you can.
I think this is not an ROM emulation of the game. I think this is hard-coded, based on how the game loads, the voice clip used and 0 flicker and slowdowns? This is not something that I can be sure about, though.
