Fun roguelike that shouldn't have been a roguelike.
Once you know the ins-and-outs, then 10/10 runs will look exactly the same with only a dps difference between them.
Naturally I was drawn to this game because it was published by Nicalis, but even though I had fun while it lasted, I wish that they didn't gate having a fair chance against the endgame content behind a huge amount of grinding.
By the end of the road all the different weapons that you get all turn out to be fodder for the basic weapon that you'll be forced to focus on upgrading if you want to be able to sustain high and consistent dps that can carry you through the final parts without running out of ammo.
I also don't understand why they had to make all of the final bosses extremely beefy that can tank for days unless you go for a very specific build.
Critadel is a fun game that should've been a 3h experience, but stretched out through dps checks and grind.
It's a very nice game to look at, and the gameplay is there, but I recommend getting it on a sale.
