Some words about this beautiful game...
I finished the game in a few hours, and had a great time cutting through every stage that had its own atmosphere.
The combat is fluid, or rather "too" fluid, to the point that everything you do has too much momentum to it. This made me want to skip most enemies and only go for the ones that are worth extra credits.
Speedrunning this game is out of the question, since no matter how fast you go, it'll still take between 1.5-2h. It's a very cinematic and story driven game.
Not to mention that plenty of parts involve waiting for stuff to happen either by walking slowly / carrying things / watching the scenery unfolds.
The bosses were probably the weakest part of the entire game, which was quite unfortunate. There was a very clear emphasis here on the artwork and style, and even regular combat.
However, one-on-one combat was done poorly (I've played adult games with better boss fights), and the platforming - while being ok, could use some work due to jank such as not grabbing ledges properly, or getting stuck in fall animation, or even just trying to thread the needle between hazards only to get welcomed by unwelcoming hitboxes.
Overall, I do recommend this game, but on a sale.
It is a very clear labor of love, full of beautiful artwork, fun gameplay and even the dialogues are pretty good. And yet, it's extremely short with no real replay value.
