Critical Blow [PS1] - play as EX Rickey
This is a play-through using EX Rickey in the PS1 game Critical Blow. Read on below for more information...
EX Rickey is a hidden character in the game. He is an unlockable playable character.
===== About EX Rickey =====
He's basically an alternative version of the regular Rickey, with a slightly different design in that he doesn't wear a cap and his hair is pointed. Judging from his win pose, he's probably the typical 'powered-up-but-cannot-harness-the-power' archetype.
From my experience, he's similar to normal Rickey, but with a few differences, such as his fireball is immediately full strength, comes out faster and cannot be charged up. He also has a flying Thrust Kick instead of the cannon-ball roll... it's very similar to Liu Kang's one from Mortal Kombat.
Apart from that, he plays almost the same as normal Rickey... but he seems slower, though.
===== Additional Information =====
---- He has the exact same ending as regular Rickey.
---- He appears as the sub-boss for Sieguei, and the last boss for Merkuar.
===== About Critical Blow =====
Critical Blow is the sequel to Genei Tougi: Shadow Struggle. It's a good game, and the whole thing is very well rounded off. Perhaps a unique aspect of this game is the Card system which you can use to 'customize' an existing character (somewhat).
Whilst the game graphics is 3D, it plays like a 2D fighter, e.g. Street Fighter style. The gameplay feels complete and well polished. If you asked me to sum up the gameplay, I would call it a mix of Rival Schools and Street Fighter.
During fights, I do like the 'angled perspective' camera view when the screen scrolls towards the left or right edge.
