For this video that also serves as the finale to Series 4, I wanted to challenge myself to work on a different kind of narrative tie in. For this video, I decided to focus on the current trend of the possible Spider-Verse movie featuring all three of the film Spider-Men, all incredible in their unique way. Once I knew which direction I wanted to take the Cross Narrative Scene, it became a matter of researching these three depictions of the iconic superhero. After this, I tried my best to ensure that my take was not just unique and original but also had a clear relation to the three stellar performances.
This aforementioned challenge added a lot more complexity to the performance but also elevated it beyond what I initially thought it would be. The recording process demanded that I find the complexities of these characters that were part of the stakes of their respective films and magnify them. It enabled me to craft a script and final video that toed the line between these very similar characters.
As I edited the recording and worked on putting together the final, I wanted to find ways to allow each character to breathe and inhabit their own space in the video while also making each piece of dialogue flow into the next. It allowed me to create a chain of events that felt organic and like they would occur in this highly fantasized and popularized meeting of the minds.
