Cross Quick Kill Glitch on the Mummies in Castlevania (NES) - A Wild Glitch Appears! #shorts
3,325In Castlevania for the NES, there's a glitch that allows you to pretty much instantly kill the Mummy bosses at the end of level 3. It involves using the cross subweapon on the two mummies when they are stacked on top of each other.
Apparently, when two hitboxes overlap, and a cross damages both of those overlapping hitboxes, each hitbox will take damage every other frame, which makes for some very quick kills on the dual mummy boss. In other words, if the mummies are "stacked" on top of each other, the cross weapon will deal damage incredibly fast as it passes over these overlapping enemies.
This glitch is specific to the cross subweapon (aka the boomerang). This is a trick that speedrunners use as a quick kill method for the level 3 end boss.
