Skipping and Moving NPCs in StarTropics II - A Wild Glitch Appears! #shorts
1,050In Zoda's Revenge: StarTropics II for the NES, there's a very simple trick you can perform toward the end of the game that will allow you to skip one of the final conversations with Mica. It saves you a few precious seconds in a speedrun, so that's great. But performing this skip also allows you to do a weird and funny glitch where you can move all the NPCs in the room!
After defeating the final form of Zoda (the last boss) you would normally walk up along a path toward Mica who greets you with her gratitude, and the conversation seems like it's mandatory. Stepping on a certain tile just to the left of a cow skull will trigger an event where Mica walks up to you and starts speaking to you. But if you simply hold left on the d-pad while she's walking toward you, you can skip the conversation and just leave, which is rude! But also it saves you some time in a speedrun.
Furthermore,. if you skip the conversation in this way, then move back toward the cow skull, you can now move all of the NPCs in the room at once, which looks like a weirdly choreographed dance. It's totally useless, but hey, I love me a useless glitch! You can even trigger the conversation that you were supposed to have with Mica if you talk to the square she was standing on before you moved her.
