Mario Circuit 4 Lap Skip Glitch in Super Mario Kart (SNES) - A Wild Glitch Appears! #shorts
3,090In Super Mario Kart for the SNES, there are numerous locations throughout the game where you can jump into a wall at just the right placement to trick the game into thinking you've completed an entire lap, when in reality, all you've done is jump face first into a wall.
In this example, I use Donkey Kong Jr. to showcase the lap skip glitch in the Mario Circuit 4 course in the Star Cup grand prix. All you need to do is jump at the black line that divides the blue blocks along the wall near the left side of the finish line. I had the most success aiming myself at the black line in the middle of the four blue blocks and jumping at high speed, but sometimes aiming at the black line to the right of the middle one worked also.
If you did it correctly, the game will think that just for a brief moment, your driver was on the other side of the wall. Then, when the game recalculates your position, it thinks that you're back on the finish line side of the wall, so it believes you've just completed a whole lap.
I had a much easier time pulling this lap skip trick off with Yoshi than I did with Donkey Kong Jr., but either way, this one was really difficult imo.

Btw I am playing this on the Nintendo Switch on the Super Nintendo Online collection. And yeah, I'm sure this works on the SNES Classic as well.
